We can start Excel from the Start Menu and by entering the ‘Excel’ in the search box. We also Start Excel Application from Start Menu in Applications of MS Office Folder.

You can go to Task Manager and check for the applications and find if Excel is running your computer.
How to End Excel or Force to Quit the Excel Application
You can go to Task Manager and check for the applications and select if Excel is running your computer. Then click on the End Process button to terminate the Excel Application.
