Excel Workbook

Excel Workbook is the Main File which can contain at one or more worksheet or spreadsheets. We can also insert Charts, Pivot Table, Shapes and other Objects to represent the data in verity of formats.

How to Create New Workbook

We can create a new Excel Workbook in different methods:

1. We can go to All Applications from Start Menu and Click on the Excel Application. This will start the Excel Application and Opens a new Workbook.
2. We can also Right Click on the Desktop and Click on the Excel Application. This will start the Excel Application and Creates a new Workbook on Desktop. We can Double click to Open the Workbook.
3. If the Excel Application is already opened, we can create new Excel Workbook from the File Menu.
4. We can also use shortcut (Ctrl+N) to create new workbook, if the Excel Application is already opened.

How to Close the Workbook

We can close an Excel Workbook in different methods:

1. We close the Workbook by using the Close Window button (X icon in the application menu) at top-right corner of the Excel File.
2. We can close the workbook from the File Menu by clicking on the Exit Command.
3. We can also close the workbook from the Task bar, right click on the workbook icon and click on the close window command.

How to Open Existing Workbook

We can Open an existing  Excel Workbook in different methods:

1. We can Right Click on the File and Click Open to Open the File .
2. We can Double click on the File to Open the Workbook.
3. If the Excel Application is already opened, we can open Excel Workbook from the File Menu.
4. We can also Copy the Complete path of the File and Paste in the Run Command and Press Enter to Open the File.

How to Open Multiple Workbooks in the Same Window

We can Open multiple Excel Workbooks in the same window in different methods:

1. If the Excel Application is already opened, we can use the Open command from the File Menu and select multiple Excel Workbooks to Open in the Same Window.
2. If the Excel Application is already opened, we can drag the workbooks and drop in already opened Excel Application Window.

How to Open Multiple Workbooks in Different Windows

Excel is MDI (Multi Document Interface till Excel 2010. i.e; when you open a new workbook, it will open in the already opened  Application Window. We can Open multiple Excel Workbooks in the Different Window in different methods:

1. If the Excel Application or an Excel File is already opened, We must open new Application and Use the Open command from the File Menu to open the file.
2. If the Excel Application is already opened, we can drag the workbooks and drop in the newly opened Excel Application Window.
3. We can also change this default behavior from the Excel Options to open new workbook in a new window every time.

How to Save Excel Workbook

We can save Excel Files in the following ways:

1. Using shortcuts: We can use keyboard shortcut keys Ctrl+S to Save Excel Workbook
2. Save Icon: We can Press on the Save Icon on top of the Excel Application Menu
3. Save Command: We can use Save Command in the File Menu

How to Create Excel Template

We can create Excel templates and use it whenever you need it, instead of creating Excel workbooks from scratch. Excel Template workbooks are very useful to save time and avoid repetitive task.

2. Open the template and create new workbook with ready to use formats, formulas and other template objects.
